I have compared several schools before my decision. I want to learn Chinese well and I also like to know Chinese culture. And I think the attitude of the teacher, the consultant here are all very positive. I like to stay with them and get the care from th
I have returned to Shanghai during the Golden week or the first week of October. Everything is closed as it is
almost an important holiday like Chinese News Years. The plane was full of families with 2 year old children return
from visiting the grandparents overseas. I have been out of Shanghai for 5 months and the changes are startling.
The little hotel I used to stay in has new neighbors on all sides. There are 3 brand new hotels all under the same
group but all different hotels and prices. I fear my old comfortable old hotel will be the next to get a face lift. None
of the staff is the same at the desk. The only staff that has remained the same is in the restaurant which is a separate
concession. The convenient store down the street is now an empty lot. I walked down to Ding yi Lu past the language
school and it was bustling more than I remember. The government and news may say China is in a slow down but
by my quick observation Shanghai is in a boom. I will see next week as normally during vacation time things slow
down in Shanghai so I will be in for a surprise after the week end when things return to Normal.
